Objectives: Assess the link between diabetes and hypertension treatments and the risk of contamination in patients with COVID-19

Strength of evidence: Low (short correspondence, hypothesis-driven, no methodology, not a systematic review)

Methods/publication type: Correspondance, short letter, hypothesis=driven review

Highlights :

  • Patients with heart disease, hypertension or diabetes and treated with ACE inhibitors or ARA2 may be at more severe risk during COVID-19

  • Special need for close monitoring in these patients

  • Possible alternatives to current treatments: calcium channel blocker/antagonists
